Borderless Spaces — Petals of Poetry (Online Session)

Petals of Poetry was a reflective online gathering that invited participants to explore identity and experience through the art of poetry. Framed within the Borderless Spaces series, this session used the symbolism of three blooms; the lily of age, the lotus of gender, and the rose of race as prompts for creative writing and shared interpretation.

Participants were guided through a gentle poetic process that encouraged personal expression, cultural reflection, and communal exploration, connecting words with lived experience in a nurturing and inclusive virtual space. The session honoured poetry as a tool for storytelling, community connection, and thoughtful engagement with self and others, as well as illustrating how language can transcend borders of identity, age, and culture.
