    CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

    Meyss Hussein is a passionate changemaker with a Master’s in Neuroscience and extensive experience in community management and NGOs. She blends her expertise with a deep commitment to social impact, using storytelling and digital engagement to amplify voices and drive change. Proud of her Syrian heritage, Meyss is dedicated to breaking barriers and fostering connections that empower others. Her creativity and strategic leadership are key to advancing Across the Border’s mission, ensuring inclusion, advocacy, and meaningful action remain at its heart.

    Mawada Mohamed

    CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

    Mawada Mohamed is a skilled Operations Advisor who combines strategic expertise with a strong commitment to social impact. She plays a vital role in streamlining processes and driving meaningful change while championing community empowerment. Proud of her Sudanese heritage, Mawada draws on her culture to shape her leadership and creativity, using her background as a source of strength. Whether through mentorship, project management, or advocacy, she is dedicated to fostering collaboration and ensuring Across the Border thrives as a space for connection and transformation.

    Bashir Langhi

    CHAIR OF ADVISORY BOARD AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER*

    As Chair of the Advisory Board, Bashir brings strategic leadership and financial expertise to guide the organisation’s vision and growth. Professionally, he works as a Payment Associate at one of the world’s largest banks, with a strong understanding of complex financial systems and economic structures. He is driven by a clear passion for business and economic empowerment. Within his role with us, Bashir combines professional insight with lived experience to help shape impactful programmes that support migrants, refugees and underrepresented communities in navigating financial systems and business frameworks. His guidance ensures our work remains both strategically robust and deeply grounded in community realities.

    Maya Hussein

    TREASURER AND MARKET RESEARCH ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER*

    Maya Hussein is a Market Research Analyst with expertise in consumer behaviour, data analysis, and market trends. Passionate about innovation and accessibility, she uses her analytical skills to help industries better serve diverse communities. Maya blends her professional expertise with lived experience to shape data-driven strategies and assess community needs. Her ability to translate complex insights into meaningful action strengthens ATB’s mission, ensuring its programs remain impactful and inclusive.

  • Trayvond Adutwum

    OUTREACH ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER*

    Tryvond is a programme manager and community practitioner committed to empowering underrepresented groups through strategic leadership and grassroots engagement. As a Programme Manager at Iconic Steps, he led the full lifecycle of youth programmes, securing funding from partners including JP Morgan and managing major grants to deliver measurable social impact. He has also worked as a Mental Health Youth Worker at Outward Housing, building trusted relationships with vulnerable young people and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support. Alongside this, he founded a multimedia collective at University of the Arts London, curating creative showcases. Fluent in English and conversational in Twi, he combines strategic oversight with genuine community connection to deliver impactful, inclusive work.

  • Njerũ Danson Njoka

    COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Njerũ is a community grower, land worker and organiser committed to reconnecting people with land, food and collective care. Based at Black Rootz in Tottenham, he grows indigenous and culturally relevant organic food, shares practical skills, and helps coordinate grow-to-plate community meals centring migrants, POC and queer communities. Born in Kenya and having lived in the US and UK, his work bridges diaspora and homeland. He is engaged in preserving indigenous knowledge and supporting land stewardship and food sovereignty practices in Kenya, learning alongside elders, while collaborating with decolonial communities in Kenya and the UK.

  • Raghad Alteen

    CAMPAIGN ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Raghad is a Campaign Advisory Board Member and our representative in the United States. She supports Across the Border in strengthening international partnerships, expanding global connections, and identifying funding and grant opportunities. Through her network and strategic insight, she helps build meaningful collaborations with organisations internationally, strengthening our reach and impact beyond borders.
